Requirements to be a CCP volunteer:
- Commitment to the cause (responsibility, integrity and respect to CCP values )
- Cover personal expenses (flights, vaccinations, travel insurance, visa, local transportation, and leisure costs)
- Being fluent in English (French or any other African language an asset – Ugandan, Swahili, Kinyarwanda etc.)
- Previous experience in Africa preferred (volunteering or traveling)
- At the end of the volunteering period, the volunteer will write a short report about their experience of volunteering at CCP.
Additional information for volunteers
Accommodation: Volunteers have 2 options of accommodation. It is up to the volunteer to make their own choice. Option 1: accommodation in hotels-different hotel options will be sent to the volunteer before they arrive then they will choose a hotel of their choice and directly pay the hotel when they arrive.
Option 2: Accommodation at the homes of local CCP ambassadors near the schools/national park or forest reserves. The homes might be somewhat rural but secure for the volunteer to stay. CCP will carefully select conservation ambassadors who will host the volunteers. The volunteer will be accommodated for free and will be free to cook for themselves whatever they wish to eat. The volunteer will out of his willingness make a small contribution towards food expenses to the conservation ambassador. This is voluntary.
Transport: Public transport will be used where possible, however for travels where transport by public means is difficult, the volunteer will hire a car. The costs of the hiring will be borne by the volunteer. Please click below to see the current volunteering opportunities within our organization:
