The Children Conservationists Program (CCP) Foundation was established in August 2018 with the primary objective of cultivating a generation of children and youth who are passionate about and dedicated to conserving national parks and wildlife reserves. The CCP Foundation operates within Uganda and Rwanda, focusing on young individuals residing within a 10-kilometer radius of these protected areas. We are currently seeking two experienced and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors. As directors, you will play a critical role in guiding the strategic direction of CCP and managing its various programs, all aimed at the overarching goal of wildlife conservation for present and future generations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction to ensure the alignment of CCP’s programs with its mission and vision.
  2. Governance and Policy Development: Establish and uphold governance structures, policies, and procedures that ensure the organization’s integrity and accountability.
  3. Networking and Partnerships: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with various institutions, organizations, companies, and stakeholders to enhance CCP’s impact and reach.
  4. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization: Together with CCP’s fundraising team, the Directors lead fundraising efforts and secure financial resources necessary for the implementation and sustainability of CCP
  5. Financial Oversight: Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and management to ensure prudent use of CCP’s funds and resources.
  6. Program Development and Evaluation: Design, implement, and evaluate CCP programs, ensuring they are effective and meet the needs of the target
  7. Advocacy and Public Relations: Act as an ambassador for CCP, promoting its mission and activities to the public, media, and potential supporters.
  8. Volunteer Engagement: Recruit, train, and support volunteers and conservation ambassadors to actively participate in CCP initiatives.
  9. Expansion and Growth: Drive the growth of CCP both locally and internationally, ensuring adherence to its mission and vision.
  10. Monitoring and Reporting: Develop and implement robust monitoring and reporting systems to track the progress and impact of CCP’s activities.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to wildlife conservation and environmental
  • Significant experience in a leadership role within an NGO or similar
  • Proven track record in fundraising, networking, and partnership
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget
  • Excellent strategic planning, organizational, and project management
  • Exceptional communication and advocacy
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of
